The Bystander-initiated CPR is still spread quite low. A higher percentage of earlier and professional CPR could save many lives. The “EHRA Rescue App” targets exactly that and is a Pilot starting in Lübeck, Germany: Over 250 medical volunteers are already connected with the emergency unit over their smartphone and are alarmed, if a CPR needs to be performed near their location. Statistically this saves 30-40 lives per year in the region. EHRA is happy to roll-out their app in the near future and could save up to 100.000 lives per year in the EHRA countries doing so.
